3d graphics/CAD

Hi All,

I assume many members of this list do design work using some kind of 3D graphics program or a 3D CAD program.

I am in the process of considering a new computer (my trusty standby has pretty much given up the ghost and I am limping along on a netbook). In addition to hoping to get

a better camera and software that will have much larger files, I would also like to get into 3D design at some point.

What do you use and what are the computer and OS requirements?
