I had the same problems Bill (Last year even...) but I didnt have the luck Chris had in Finding the problem. I tried Everything including Deleting/Allowing Cookies, everything, even shutting off my Antivirus and Firewalls temporarily to see if that opened things up and I still had "No-Luck..." My only solution was to just Restart with different Username and at the time I was changing Email addresses so this helped good in the transition... This happened to me Twice!!!! So because of it my Yahoo Username is Frustratingly "Ecanem333".
All other names say "Username Taken!!" Grrrrrr!!!! haha!
