Re: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] ZV6000+SPP100+LinuxCNC
But..you need to find the right port address.
I dont remember in emc distro what the procedure is .. but there is one.
Booting knoppix linux from cd, there is a control panel/hardware / stuff applet that tells you the actual hw address.
Seek for parallel port address on that linux distro.
Hi, Folks:
I'm trying to use EMC2 with a HP ZV-6000 notebook computer. The ZV-6000 has a PCMCIA slot, and I've got a Quatech SPP-100 parallel port which should be able to drive the HobbyCNC motor drive. Currently, EMC is at 2.43 and is installed on the notebook. I'm downloading the latest version as I type this message.
Unfortunately, I've no software to enable the SPP-100 card under either Linux or DOS. (I could move back to TurboCNC - which is a DOS program - if I absolutely had to). When I booted the ZV-6000 with Windows XP, it appeared that the card started at address 0xFFF8 and had a mode to make it look like LPT1, LPT2, or LPT3. I'd like to be able to enable the card. If it could be used as LPT1, that would be icing on the cake. If not, which configuration file would I need to modify to change the port address from 0x378 to 0xFFF8?
Thanks in advance,
Jerry Jankura
