setup and some of what I am doing. But in a nut shell, I am using a Shoptask
3 in 1 machine and have all 3 axises hooked up so I can run it as a CNC mill
or CNC lathe. I am using Superior stepper motor that are rated 550 in/oz in
bipolar configuration.
The way it is set up I have a printer cable coming off the parallel port to
a junction board I put in the case with the controller electronics. The
junction board is nothing fancy. It just gives me a place to tie the limit
and home switch wires along with the step and direction wires to the printer
cable. From the junction board the wires for step and direction go right to
the controller board and the motors attach directly to that.
If you want to use a servo system with EMC it is set up to use a Servo-to-GO
card ( http://www.servotogo.com/ ). This is not used for stepper systems.
