Excessive acceleration definitely could be a problem. I've tweaked
stepper-driven linear slides on special machines I've built, and when I hit
the limit, I lose more than just a few steps. It seems like the motor
completely disengages, because there's noise, but nothing's moving. It
seems that losing only a few steps at a time would mean you're RIGHT on the
limit. What's everybody's experience on hitting that max-accel/max.
velocity limit?
