Gents,

On a similar line, what machine has a 3J collet in it? I run 5C based stuff and really wish at times I had the larger collet.

My dream machine would have a 3J cartridge spindle, a 5 HP C axis drive, something akin to an Upgrade or Omni slide, a Dorian or eq 6 or 8 position turret. Control would be as reliable as a Fanuc or Fagor but it would have PC features such as a good GUI, floppy hard drive, ethernet etc. Maybe a Centroid? A Camsoft?

If it had an enclosure,a programmable tailstock and slant bed, WOW.

PS, There must be dead machines out there that would closely resemble the above minus the controls. Any body know what kind of machine best matches the above?
