Peter,
I know exactly the machine you're looking for. A TBI chucker. Made
in LA. Sort of like a Hardinge CNC, only a little beefier I think.
Lots of them around LA. Since they are older machines, they aren't
in big demand because of the old controls. Last one I saw had a
Fanuc 6T on it. Big bucks for new boards!!! I could have gotten
that in running condition for $1500. Although, considering the big
old stand-alone controller, who knows if it'd still be running after
moving? That machine is now being retro-fitted with an Ahha control
because the new owner didn't want to even fool with the Fanuc.
TBI's differ slightly from your "specs". They use a 315 (?) collet,
still bigger than a 5C. And they have a flat bed.
One of the brothers in the original company still supports the
machines.
