I think the point is using rewired syncro motors is VERY application
dependent. Almost anything that uses a lead screw or a belt reduction will
not have adequate speed with them. OTOH, if you are doing any type of direct
drive as you are will likely find them to be a reasonable solution.
Unfortunately in this case, most metal machines use lead screws and
reduction.
