I didn't have much luck with deskNC, but I did use the demo version of
desKAM to generate G-code to engrave a customer's logo on a part I make
for them.
Generated the font in Cadkey97 using a TT font, then went and used the
Draw-Arc-Through Three Points function to get around the perimeter of
the font. Cleaned up end entity intersections, exported into desKAM, and
viola. Took a matter of seconds. Had only to pick out the points between
letters where I had to add Z up and down moves. Turned out very nice. I
think there are some redundant moves in the code, but I sure can't
complain.
I think it can be qwirky, but as far as I know, there's nothing even
close to it for the price.
