I think that the distinction between a dc motor and a dc servomotor has
been blurred
considerably. I have a batch of dc motors off of robots that have 4
leads because they
have dc brakes inside. Actually most of them have kabillion leads
because they have tachs and encoders, but the motor themselves have just
2 leads. There are a batch of microswitch motors out there with 4
leads, but they seem to be internally connected.
