In the august 1999 issue of Silicon Chip(Australia) there is a project to
build a box to generate a test pattern to check if a computer monitor is OK.
They acknowledge that the article was adapted from an article in the
American magazine Popular Electronics, May 1999 issue.

Locally there are large numbers of 19" monitors that come up for sale at
auctions. Has anyone ever designed a PIC driven device/tool that can be
plugged into a monitor to drive the screen with a color or of some kind of
test pattern that would indicate if the monitor is good or not. There are
pattern generators for TV's but Monitors????
Any help or URL's? Beyond my abilities.
