Diamond in the rough or just roughage?
I got a Futaba Pulse-Scale 2 axis DRO out of the trash can, covered
with paint overspray. It is very old, the scales look like air
cylinders, but it does read out to 5 decimal places.
After scotch-brite-ing the mess, the box and one of the scales
works, the other scale won't read. Inside it looks like your run of the
mill 50 micron glass scale accept that it has some kind of signal
conditioning board (has what looks like 5 trim pots) inside and I can't
trouble shoot it. The read head is a mess of rollers and springs and
mechanical junk everywhere. There are 3 LED emitters that seem to be
working, I can't get to the recieving side without taking the carriage
off, and I'm trying to avoid that.
Does anyone know if its possible to fix this scale? Or where to get
pinouts or info on this hardware?
