Good reply Ballendo, just to muddy the water a bit though, you haven't
referred to the type of ball races which are designed to take a measure of
end thrust. These have one side of the track on both the inner and outer
races extended in diameter at opposite ends so that any end forces are
absorbed in one direction. I'm not sure of their exact description but they
are often used in 'light load' high speed applications.
