Jon,
The issue would be the size in uf and condition (old and of diminished value
or new) of your filter capacitor/s. I have seen as little as 500 uf per amp
of output to as high as 6000 uf per amp. This would determine your ripple. If
you have a bad bridge rectifier or it is connected wrong, it could cause
problems also. Make sure the bridge has adequate heat sinking. Are you
running one power supply for all or one for each axis? I understand that when
using one power supply, cross talk noise from other drivers can cause
glitches. BTW, I traced my lost steps problem to incorrect acceleration and
max unramped stepping rates parameters in my software. Peter
