According to the current information, the i-opener is available
again. It's now $299, but Netpliance also sells them refurbished for
$199. The original $99 version is widely available, used, as well.
With the exception of glueing down the processor, and making the case
less hacker friendly, they are still hackable, will still support
HDs, and are more documented than ever. The web is full of hacking
instructions for them. If not overdriven in excess of 333Mhz, they
apparantly run various forms of Linux quite well. In addition,
Netpliance claims they have a touch screen model nearly ready for
release. A 10" color touch-screen flat panel EMC machine would be
pretty slick.
