Jerry,
I think HEDS is just an older model. I have HEDS 6100, They are bigger,
and probably more precision H is high resolution, mine don't have a
shaft, they mount to a motor. Which reminds me, I wonder if the
Sherline's have a pair of holes (.128) on the backside, on a 1.811 ring
circle. The Q stands for Quick, as I recall.
So, do you have it connected up yet?

PS, I'm putting my copy of EMS in the mail to you. I can't get it
