If I remember correctly Hans' boards are based on the L297 - L298 chopper
chip set. If so, you really do not want 12 V or higher motors, but low
voltage motors around 2 - 4 V that have a bipolar current rating of 2 amps
or less. I don't have the time to get into why you want lower voltage
motors, but just trust me on this. There is quite a bit in the message
archives on this and Mariss' Geckodrive site had a good white paper.

I would look at the Camtronics site for motors. Dan has some nice NEMA 34
units that would work well for you. I agree that you need bigger than 100
in/oz. I would second the recommendation of 300+ in/oz. I was using 550
in/oz units on my Shoptask, but they require more current than your board
can deliver.
