I see a possible problem here, could some of you that are more
familiar with the 298 chip set confirm if the current drive of this
chip is 2 amps not 4 amps.
Also i see a rating below of 45 volts input voltage. Did the guy who
designed this board give you this number. I took a quick look at the
schematic on the web site you gave. One thing that worries me is
there is cmos logic on the board. I can't tell if it is powered by
5vdc or 12vdc.
I think the voltage rating of the 298 is around 45 volts but it would
not hurt to check the voltage rating of the 470uF caps on the board.
