Dan/Tom: I've built the 4 axis controller, and now have my first hurdle
to overcome. When I install the board into my 486 PC in the house, it is
recognized fine, and seems to work well (I don't have my encoders yet..)
When I take the same board out to the 386 in the shop, that is the
intended PC to be dedicated to the DRO, I can't seem to get the board to
be recognized. I get the same error with the board in different ISA
slots, and with the jumper in 4 different address locations. (I think I
tried 544, 512, 640, and 7XX) The machine is a 386-DX (I'm not sure of
the DX) with 16M memory, and no math co-processor. The error=1, which is
the same thing I get in the 486 when I run the program without the board
installed in it. Any hints or ideas?
I then tried to run the program in an older 286 machine, to see if it
would recognize the board, but the program just caused the machine to
lock up. It seems that DOS 3.3 is not able to run the txt_dro.exe
program. The 286 I don't really care about, although it was the backup,
2nd machine. Maybe if I upgrade the DOS level it will run the program
(?)
So, the board seems OK, but I can't get the 386 to recognize it.
