Yes, the case is hard anodized specifically to form an electrical insulation
layer. Mariss told me that the layer of anodization is all that keeps the
mosfets electrically isolated from each other. As practical validation, I
have w of them attached to the same aluminum plate.

I ran a wire from a 5V line of the PC power supply. The way it is suppose to
work is to use an opto isolator between the PC and the drive and the 5V
comes from that.

BTW, my experience is with the G320, but I think in regards to your
questions the answers are the same.
