Saturable reactor is an inductor whose inductance changes nonlinearly with
current. As the amount of energy stored in its field is proportional to the
inductance, this has a regulating effect in some circuits. To some extent
all iron core inductors exhibit this (usually undesirable) behavior, in this
case it has been designed for.

Bummer. That's pretty slow. Guess I won't be doing any heavy production
work. It should be fine for all the things that I have in mind.

I had a burst of energy to work on the mill, but I'm taking delivery of a
lathe Tuesday and that will take up all my time for a while.
