OK, that clearly is the British-built machine. Their serial numbers
obviously are a separate system from the US-built Bridgeports.
My ~1941 Bridgeport is M1388.

Not online, but there are several Bridgeport manuals. The end user
manual is pretty thin, but it has cutaway drawings that are invaluable
when taking things apart for the first time. Somebody on this list
posted a part number and price (in the US) of the more detailed
repair manual sometime this year.
