Ballendo,
I use 3D Studio MAX 3.1 as my main design program and have written
some scripts to add the functions I need. To output a curve, I
subdivide it into small segments then, in sequence, send all the
endpoints of these segments to the machine. It's not ideal, arcs
would be better, but it does the job. Could I do exactly the same
thing with G Code ?

Fred,
The Roland seems to support flat, x/y arc commands although I don't
use them myself as I've not found a way of converting a curve to a
sequence of arcs.
I'd imagine the CAMM3 HPGL format is the same as I use.

Thanks again,

Rab
