Hello the list!,

I've just signed up, and am quite
interested in HSM type DRO and CNC.

I bought some equipment a while back
which included a Colne Terco CNC trainer
lathe and mill. With these machines
came some documentation and a couple of
old style programming stations that seem
to need (among other things) an external
hard drive somewhere (which I don't
have).

Also, came with a separate controller
station for the mill. None of this
equipment looks to have seen much use.
The plan would be to learn a little
(hopefully a lot) about CNC, and get
these running as a side effect.

I haven't even had time to look at the
paper that came with them, but after I
get the chance, I should have a question
or two for the list.

I hope to learn enough for starters to
figure out whether it would be best to
try to work with what I have for this
system and find / fabricate what I'm
missing, or if I should view these as
generic machines and I'll need to buy
fresh software / controls -- maybe
something along the lines of MAXNC? The
stepper motors on the mill look like
quality and fairly beefy for the
application (to the uneducated on cnc
eye).

My question for right now is:

Does anyone here have this equipment,
or does anyone remember training on it?

Thanks for any help,

Jesse Hill
