Alan, If you're going to do it, DO IT... As I mentioned, this is not
something you will have to write from scratch, if at all. Find one
which does what you think makes sense, and incorporate it. Your
customers will let you know what's missing :-) Especially if you
listen, and IMPLEMENT some of their suggestions.

Having said that, I'd at least support addition, subtraction, and
fractional input (3+2/3, or 4- 17/56. White space doesn't matter).
Some people have a real hard time with decimals, and this takes care
of them.
