When I first 'got into this', I was told not to use switched
supplies, then others who I respected said, "use 'em". I never did,
and have had no problems... I DO continue to hear stories like yours,
tho... Even as "authorities" are still saying switchers (with
steppers) are fine. I was thinking that maybe the reason they say
switchers are fine now is the HUGE improvement in the technology in
the recent years.

Yes, I know 'switchers' are working for people even as I type...

Re: the 5v supply: Why not use a 'wall wart'? Small, cheap, easy...
(or a 7805 and a couple of caps,maybe a dropping resistor approx.
$.50)

P.S. Experts, What ARE the "gotchas" in using switching power
supplies with stepper motors, if any?
