Exactly! Continuing on my review of cheap off-the-shelfers which
can possibly be modified for digitizing is the:
- $17.95 Enco edgefinder (page 66 of their .pdf flier )PN#AC636-7048
- highly visible light
- accuracy +/- 0.000 10 inch

I don't know you'd get cheaper than that! I will upload the pinout
(5 pin din) for the "RTTP" (Renishaw Touch Trigger Probe)
also used by Fowler probes.
