glass cutting lubrication

I have seen handheld glass cutters that dispense lubrication for the scoring
wheel..I don't know hat benefit there is, but all the equipment I have seen
for higher volume cutting (cutter mounted on clamp/measuring board) does not
use oil. For my purposes, I wouldn't want oil on the glass to have to clean
off.
