I hope to try the slackware and 5.2 when disks are mailed to me.
I have 6.2 gnome workstation running now and no problems whatsoever. Hmm I
like linux. Think I will configure the modem if it is not HSP. After all it
is the weekend.
I am hoping one of the combinations will work. I don't need the
latest and greatest software rev- just a proven one that will work. The
gantry is out there waiting (and burning up $$ because it is not running).
Well while I wait I can be putting the copley servo amps in a nice nema box.
I will wait with encoder and limit wiring as it is software dependent.
I may need diff line drivers due to the long run to the computer.
Max encoder pulse rate is only 17khz but there are a lot of heavy contactors
going off around and I don't want noise problems.
I did a clean install on a k6. The fact that the hardware and software are
of about the same vintage might be why I had no problems.
Thanks Hugh!
