Been a long time but I think I used my DRO. If not I probably marked the
chuck using a piece of tape and a pointer. I set a dial indicator on the
tailstock edge of the ballnut and zeroed it. I locked the ballnut so it
would not rotate. I rotated the chuck 5 times aligning the pointer every 5
turns and them moving the carriage checking the DRO and carriage dial
everytime the dial indicator came to zero. It was right on at 1.000 and at
12.000
