I found that Polycord stuff to be an exercise in frustration. Only
got it to fuse together once in about a half dozen tries (well...
maybe a dozen).

Is the belt on the MaxNC an O-ring? McMaster-Carr has lots of them.
For instance: 6" inside diameter, 3/16" thickness, Buna-N rubber -
under $9.00 for 25.
