Gents,
I'd put a dial indicator on the whole thing to trace down the source of the
slop. It really speeds up the diagnosis. You don't want to mess with the
thrust bearings if the play is indeed in the ballscrew or vice a versa. Mount
the dial to the table via a mag base and check end play of the screw while
slowly cranking the screw back and forth about .050 or .060 .
