CB,
Commercial "indexers"(for rotating parts in preset increments) use
this technique commonly. There's no reason why you couldn't use it
for an "R" axis (3rd Z linear axis name). I'm assuming the axis will
drive to some sort of preset limit? And the alternate M code (to turn
it off) will return the axis? Be careful with the effects of dwell,
if this axis is cutting...
