I can tell you from experience that interpolation and ramping is a long
development cycle. I am currently rewriting my own ramping algorithms. Just
when you think they work fine, you find certain circumstances when they
won't. HPGL and G-Code is rather easy compared to the control sections of
the software. I would also suggest you use a package already written. The
money you will spend is cheap compared to the headaches you will have
developing them at an end rate of about 8 cents an hour for your time. You
do it because you love it or you don't do it at all.
