Hi,

Why not use a home-made worm and wheel to drive the dividing head - easy to
make using a screw threading tap and can be adjusted to remove all backlash.
It wouldn't matter too much if the ratio was greater than you have
calculated for pulleys/gears, it would just enable you to use easier motor
drivers (full/half step) or give greater resolution. See earlier posts and
files in the dropbox for more details on technique)
