Taig, gimme the scoop

I need the story from someone who has bought a Taig micro lathe 2. A
friend of mine's fiance' want's to buy this guy a lathe for a wedding
present. I personally like the Sherline, but the Taig seems to offer
the same or more for much less. The base Taig lathe is only 170 bucks
according to their website. She wants to spend 500 max.
Is this one of those accessory gimicks, where I get a lathe with no
toolpost, no motor, no nuthin? I'm tempted not to buy a lathe from
someone who considers the tailstock an "accessory", come on!
I don't want this guy to get a lemon, his marriage may depend on it.
Thanks
