I have been building a control panel for my lathe and have been
mounting switches which I have soldered to the keyboard circuit
board pads at the appropriate keys. In other words if the "+" key
is the jog right key used by your software, solder a couple wires
to the back of the circuit board at the "+" key. run the wires to a
switch, mount the switch on your panel, label it "Jog Right" and
you have built a control panel (Pendant?). If you do it right the
keyboard is still useable. A keyboard is just a bunch of switches
arranged in a matrix. Cheap too.
