I just received a complimentary August issue of Nuts and Volts after I
thought the company had forgotten me. Funny but I use to subscribe a couple
years ago and then they stop sending me issues for no apparent reason, no
problem I got carried away with work and had no time to resubscribe. Anyway,
I was reading the article on retrofitting a 5000 Sherline mill with servos
and Dan Mauch's controller. The article also mentions the use of DESKAM
software ... not familiar with such.
Can someone enlighten me on this new software? I know it uses G code but I
have gotten used to saving my part files in Corel Draw as PLT files and using
the original Dan Plot software that I purchased many years ago when I built
my 3 Axis router.
If anyone is using DESKAM how do you save the part files and what programs do
you use to generate the G codes. Is Corel Draw still applicable with DESKAM?
Thanks,
