Re: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] borders, now wintopo

not sure anything will convert a photo without clear and well defined lines,
when in WinTopo don't thin, just use the edge detect then one touch
vectorization. I haven't used it that much to be anywhere near an expert
but the more well defined the lines the better the conversion. You might be
interested in one of the photo 3-d gcode generating programs, Image Carve @
http://www.peasley.com/ offers a free trial, deskart also has a trial
version but it is very limited.
