Now that I think of it I did try the G340's on the first motor I mounted on
the Sherline and the G320's on the second motor I tested on the Sherline.
It is really amazing that some of my customers will not hesitate spending
$50 for an encoder but balk at the $29 difference between the G320 and G340.
You are absolutely correct that the G340 with a 500 CPR encoder would be a
better choice than the G320 with a 200 CPR on a Sherline.
I haven't used EMC for about a year now so I really can't comment on your
other question.
