Hi Joe,
I do not believe there is any relationship between Ah Ha and Cnc Pro. I
sell the Ah ha control. The encoder feedback is used by the Ah Ah for lathe
thread cutting, to monitor Spindle position. I do not know of any other use
it has.
The Ah Ha control is a solid control. Fred at IM service (sells Vector)
uses it on his equipment. I think that speaks well for it. I know many
machine shops that depend on it every day for their Bridgeport retrofits.
Their RC500 is an excellent match with the Bridgeport Boss mill steppers,
and essentially turns them into brushless DC servo motors with microstepping
drives. The Ah Ha control is, however an open loop control, but does not
seem to be a limitation for the machine shops I know.
