Short but way too fat! If you look at a wrist watch, the strap lugs are only
maybe 1/8" from the case to the hole but also, on a round watch, the curve
of the case cuts the straight line distance down to almost nothing. Its
important that the holes are drilled exactly at right angles to the lugs or
the strap pin will pull out. This is why its necessary to use a bit of
jiggery-pokery to do the job. It may be possible to bunr them in with some
form of EDM using a bent wire electrode, I haven't tried yet, but, for the
minute, the drill-in-a-tube system works fine.
