Hi,

I'd be very cautious about doing that. The freq is probably that low
because of switching losses in the drive. Switching losses are what
happens when an output goes from low voltage to high voltage. During
this time there is both high current and high voltage across the
transistors. This combination results in very high heat dissipation.

Increasing the freq to 20kHz would quadruple this heating. Check the
transistor temp very carefully after doing this.
