CNCers:

I thought this group would get a kick out of the new toy we've
acquired. Actually one of my cohorts found it and he seemed quit
pleased. It's a 1985 Monarch VMC 45 Verical Machining Center with a work
envelope of about 18"x30"x18" and includes a fourth axis rotary table. Old
but it looks to be in reasonable shape. A big sucker some 20,000 lb. It's
identical to this one:

Picked it up for $6800 which includes shipping and placement.

Some special deal. He and I work at Oregon Institute of Technology and it
was acquired via a government surplus program through the state of
Oregon. He's now on the prowl for a turning center. :-)

Puts the Bridgeport copy knee mill I'm trying to convert to shame but I
still plan to finish it. But I'll have access to this one if I find a part
that won't fit on my 9x42 table. :-)

Take care all.
