A stepper motor is inappropriate as a spindle-motor. The "electronics" to
make a stepper turn fast enough would be prohibitive, and electromechanical
hassles would cause he who attempted that to purchase 18-wheeler-loads of
Tylenol. Read-up on steppers! Superior Electric has some fine manuals for
the asking, I think. Unless summin has changed in last few years.
