I have not used it yet, but it can be used for moving any axis it is hooked
too, or make three. Or for the guy that does not want full CNC, he can just
use a stepper and let it do the cranking from one end to the other.
Automatic but wholly under visual control. and with the single step, and a
DRO could do a lot of stuff easily, just setting there watching. I think it
would be rather easy to add your accel/deccl circuit, tied in with a switch
so selectable, If you are repeating a cut then use it, or not your choice,
same as high/low speed, or single step. I would consider using a ten turn
pot for the speed control.
OK, so I need new glasses. But the numbers look like NE555 to me. I ignored
the top half of the circuit, I have found in the last 40 years that a lot of
circuits can be taken out of context and work elsewhere with few problems,
just consider them black boxes, I don't know enough about designing to do it
from scratch.
