The inital concept was to give me a manual console that I could use
to contol my up-coming Plasma Torch/Router table project. I do have
a lathe and mill but neither are CNC...yet. I have been in "stealth"
mode (translation: Busy and broke) but I have managed to collect a
large assortment of steppers, servo motors and linear drive
components. I wanted something that I could slap down a piece of
material and make some simple cuts without doing a drawing first. I
love the 555 and have used it many time over the years but in this
case the PLL's worked better.
