Any new guy buying his first machine should be VERY concerned about what type of collet or toolholder he is getting himself into.
Unless the purchase includes gobs of holders you better stay away from anything that's not R8 or Morse #2 These two spindle tapers
will cover almost any Bridgeport Series 1, Brigeport clone, benchtop mill, etc. Tooling for both is available everywhere and cheap
in comparison to ANY other system (there are many many collet and holder systems out there)
Unless of course you have a thousand bucks or more to stock your shop with expensive or oddball holders/collets.
