Hi, i dont have all the answers but here goes. first when a chuck(magnetic)
is installed onto the table the usuall way to set up is first dial indicate
and shim until your square. lock the chuck down and then grind its surface
flat. if your doing complex work sometimes the fixture is also ground after
mounting. the quality of the grind spindle, then table accuracy and feed
linearity all play a part of how well grinding goes. carefull machining of
the part previous to grinding is important. cast iron as an example they
will put the raw casting out in the weather and sun for sometimes several
years to season the metal. once machined and ground it might stay flat for
