The aluminum is a very good conductor, as it falls through the lines
of gauss a current flows in the metal, causing an inverse magnetic field
(eddy currents) and a 1" aluminum plate floats gently down to the bottom of
the bore in about 5-10 seconds. Lens law sounds good to me.
